Seniors Section

Brett Vale members are automatically members of the Seniors’ section once they have past
their 55 th birthday and are eligible to play in all Seniors competitions.
The Seniors section play a variety of games ranging from individual events to fun team
games, through the year. Games include handicap qualifying events, exciting formats for
Seniors’ trophies or just fun events with your mates. The Seniors also play very competitive
games with the Ladies section and compete in the Suffolk County Golf Union Beaumont and
Parks knockout competitions.

Another important feature of the Seniors’ section is the Friendly Match Series. This series
pits a Brett Vale Seniors team, selected by the Seniors’ captain from a squad of players
registered to play in friendly matches on the Ig website, to teams from other clubs in Suffolk
and Essex. These home and away matches are great fun and allow Brett Vales members to
experience other courses for the modest cost of a lunch.

The Seniors section has a block booking reservation on Tuesday morning each week, 7:30
to 10:00 with seasonal variation. If you want to play in any event, then all you need to do is
enter the relevant competition on the IG App or members portal of the Brett Vale web site.
Entry opens a fortnight before the date of the competition and closes a week before it’s
played. On entry you have a choice of when you would like to play, early, late, or no
preference, and once entry is closed you will be drawn with your partners and informed of
your exact tee time so it’s a great way of meeting new people and integrating into the club.
